Milan face Juventus in the Champions League
Scudetto race and a potential Champions League clash with Juventus could be in the cards for the Rossoneri as they prepare for the Champions Ligue 1 campaign.
Juventus will be looking to extend their winning run to seven league games from the last game of the season and Milan have a good chance to do the same with their Champions League group tie against Juventus in Paris on Tuesday night.
“Milan have a very good chance in the group and they will go to Paris, if not win it, then win it,” Milan coach Mario Balotelli said.
“If they do win, we are in the same position as when we beat Juventus.
We are the team that can do that.
Juventus will also need to play at a very high level if they want to get into the Champions league.
The Bianconeri are still unbeaten in Serie A, having already lost in the Europa League and Copa del Rey.
They are also unbeaten in the competition for the first time in more than three years and are unbeaten in their last two matches.
While they have yet to beat a top team in the league, Balotlli has made it clear that the Bianconero have to be ready to beat any team in Italy, even if it means playing in a crowd of 70,000 or more at the Stadio San Paolo.
Bale has struggled for form this season and is also without the services of Diego Milito for this match, while he missed the first leg against Juventus with an ankle injury.
It is likely that Balotli will have a different starting XI to the one that faced Lazio on Sunday night, with the Italian team having lost to Udinese in the last four.
Mario Balotucci has had some changes to his starting XI this season.

A 4-0 victory over Udinese on Saturday would put Lazio within striking distance of a top-four finish and their only away defeat this season was at Inter Milan on June 1.
That was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Napoli on Wednesday night and then a 2-1 defeat by Sampdoria on Saturday.
Both Lazio and Inter have started their Champions Leagues matches in the city, and Balotuelli is looking to give them a run in the final of the competition.
“I will try to do my best and I will do my hardest,” he said.
Milan are currently in fifth place in Serie B, four points behind leaders Inter.
Lazio have lost four of their five league games and their record at the Stadium of Light is 10-13-4.
On Sunday, Balotelli will look to add to the confidence of the fans and the players by taking charge of the game, which has become a familiar sight for him at the stadium since his appointment in 2015.
After his team was beaten 2-0 at Lazio by Lazio in April, Balutelli admitted that the fans’ passion was a big factor.
He said: “I am sure that they have been in a lot of games where they are not happy, but it is the same for me.
I try to show the same energy, the same desire.
Every game is a chance to win, to win this way, to do this way.
We have to show that.
“We are not satisfied.
We need to keep fighting, but we need to be happy, too.
There is a lot to do, but there is a big challenge for us to win every game.”
Lampard, who was the player of the match, will be hoping to continue his form in a game where he will be in an unfamiliar position.
In the opening game against Napoli, he only made three tackles, one of which was a tackle on Lorenzo Insigne and a third of which came in the opening minute of the second half.
However, he was given the captain’s armband by Balotrati in the closing minutes of the 1-1 draw with Sampdori, and that will come into his own against Lazio.
Sampdori have won only one of the last three matches against Milan and are still searching for their first win in their current four-game winning streak.
Former Milan striker Gianluca Vialli will be making his return to Milan for the second leg of their Champions Ligetto tie against Lazionese club Lazio at the San Paoli on Sunday.
Vialli is expected to start in the right back role but he will also provide some attacking options for the centre of midfield.
