In many of the world’s wealthiest nations, the number of young people looking for work has doubled since 2014.
And there’s growing evidence that the skills and skillset required for an internship are becoming more widely available in the world.

Find out more about student entrepreneurship in this guide.
First of all, you’re going to need a job.
Here’s what you’ll get into an internship if you decide to apply: First year students: One year students get into a 12-week summer internship at a leading technology company.
You’ll be working on projects that will develop your skills, but you’ll also get a great experience.
Second year students – which means you’ll work alongside students who have already graduated: This will be your second year in school, so you’ll have more experience.
This will give you the chance to build skills and work alongside graduates and graduates’ mentors, who will help you learn the industry’s most popular skills and techniques.
Third year students (and vice versa): This is where you’ll start your career as a student in the industry.
If you’re a student at the University of Bristol, you’ll do an internship there in June 2019.
If not, you can apply for an internship in the city of Brighton.
The other option is to apply to a career fair at the same time as you’re starting your internship.
You could be offered a job, or you could apply to take part in a job fair in the same city as your internship – for example, you could work at a health food store in the town of Brighton during the summer months.
Where you work will determine your chances of getting an internship.
Your position will depend on the company you’re working for.
For example, a retail company might prefer a person who works in the IT department.
Another company might be interested in a junior software developer.
Internships can take anywhere from two to six months to complete, depending on the size of the company.
What will you learn in your internship?
Internships usually take place in the first year of studies, which means the first thing you’ll learn is how to use tools like Excel and Google Docs to work on projects.
Then, after that, you should learn about the industry, including the latest tech developments and the challenges faced by students working in it.
What happens when you get your first internship?
If you get an offer from a company, your first week is the most stressful part.
If, however, you apply for a job at a different company, you will have a few days to prepare before your first day of work.
You may also have the opportunity to meet other students who work in the sector, and get to know their roles and responsibilities.
You might also get to take a team of six or more students for a spin around the city.
This is a great opportunity to learn about how different industries work and work in different parts of the city, and to see what the job market looks like at different points in time.
How much will it cost to start your internship in the United Kingdom?

However, many companies have an internship plan, which allows you to work for a fee without having to pay the full amount of money upfront.
This type of offer is called a work-for-hire, and if you work for someone else, you pay the same amount each week.
You will have the option of taking a work placement with an employer, which gives you a full-time position for the next six weeks.
How long does an internship last?
You’ll have to finish your internship on your own time, and your company will not take any credit or payment for you.

You can also apply to work as an intern at a more formal company, but the offer of an apprenticeship is not normally available to young people.
