When Your Startup Makes You $20,000 in Entrepreneurship Courses
Entrepreneurs who are making the leap to becoming entrepreneurs are making money in a variety of ways, including by taking courses, mentoring students, and taking on other projects that are important to their success.
We talked to the leaders of the community of students who have gone on to start businesses and find success at universities.1.
Michael, a 23-year-old entrepreneur from Texas who moved to the U.S. from South Africa and is currently in college, is an entrepreneur by trade.
“I started a restaurant, and I was thinking, ‘Why would I be an entrepreneur?’,” Michael told Newsweek.
“It’s a little bit of a different mindset, but I was very much a business guy, and that was what I wanted to do.
I really wanted to learn how to make a living.”
Michael’s business, A Simple Cook, has grown from a couple of restaurants in his hometown of Austin to a franchise in New York City.
“The first thing we started was our first restaurant, which was a simple one-pot meal,” Michael said.
“We really grew quickly and the food was amazing.”
Michael also took a few courses at universities, including a course in entrepreneurship called “Startup in the College of Business.”
He took the course in a different country for a semester, which helped him become a better entrepreneur.2.
Chris, a 22-year old entrepreneur from England, moved to California from the United Kingdom after graduating from the London Business School.
He joined his father, a sales executive, as an apprentice at an accounting firm in the U, then moved on to an accounting company, then a restaurant and then a grocery store.
“Being a big entrepreneur was kind of a natural progression for me,” Chris told Newsweek, adding that the more time he spent in the office, the more he became a better businessman.
“A lot of the time, I was just doing it for the money,” Chris said.
He also took courses at Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and Harvard Business School to improve his business acumen.3.
John, an entrepreneur from the UK, said he joined the business world at a young age.
“When I was 15, I took the [business] course in London,” he said.
John went on to work for his father’s accounting firm and opened his own restaurant and started a catering company.
“My father used to tell me, ‘I think you’re the most intelligent person in the room.
You’re not only intelligent, you’re intelligent and funny,'” John said.
John started his business with his dad, who told him he was going to be a successful businessman.
He worked his way up from an apprentice to the executive and eventually went on the management team at a hotel in the UK.
“He was very proud of me because I didn’t want to be an accountant and then go into management,” John said of his father.4.
Andrew, a 27-year of age entrepreneur from Australia, moved from Australia to the United States at a younger age.
Andrew said he took the Business School course in New Zealand to get his MBA and work in a bank.
“At the end of the day, it was about making money,” Andrew said.
Andrew’s first business was a restaurant.
He sold his first business to a large retailer and made a couple more to start his second restaurant, Andrew said, which he later expanded to a full-service catering company that became a franchisee.5.
Michael and Chris are two of the students who started businesses in the United State.
Michael is a financial consultant and the founder of the online business eCommerce School.
“For me, it’s really about making a living, and the other two are business and entrepreneurship,” Michael, who is also from Australia said.
Michael started a business to help students in the University of Minnesota with their learning and also went on a two-year business retreat with his father in the summer.
“After a few years, we sold the restaurant and the catering company and went to an online company and started selling things like online shopping, online home shopping, and home shopping,” Michael explained.6.
Michael said that he started his entrepreneurial career while in high school.
He said he was interested in business because of his love for the outdoors and his love of learning.
“But I wasn’t a particularly good entrepreneur,” Michael admitted.
“So when I went to a business school and I went through all the courses, I found that the coursework was really tough and it wasn’t the kind of learning that I was looking for.
I was actually very confused and I thought, ‘Oh my god, what’s going on here?'”
Michael said he eventually made the decision to take a business class from a company in New Jersey.
“They taught me everything they knew about how to start a business,” he explained.
Michael continued his entrepreneurial journey, which included taking a business course in the US at the University at Buffalo.7.
